"Sacred Trash: The Lost and Found World of the Cairo Geniza," is a nonfiction book co-authored by husband and wife team, Peter Cole and Adina Hoffman. Published in 2011, it tells the story of the recovery from a Cairo geniza (repository for worn-out texts) of the most vital cache of Hebrew manuscripts ever discovered. The book was awarded the American Library Association's Brody Medal for the Jewish Book of the Year.  Peter Cole is an acclaimed poet & translator, a MacArthur "Genius" Award Recipient, and winner of the National Jewish Book Award.  Adina Hoffman is an author, biographer, and film critic whose essays and criticism have appeared in the Nation, the Washington Post, the TLS, RaritanBookforum, the Boston Globe, New York Newsday, Tin House, and on the World Service of the BBC. Cole and Hoffman will present together.  Book signing to follow.
