L-Functions and Number Theory in Two Parallel Worlds

Julio Andrade, Research Associate

Abstract:   In this seminar I will discuss basic properties and some problems involving L-functions. Also I will show how number theory problems over function fields are easier to handle than number theory problems over number fields. Indeed I will prove the Riemann Hypothesis, a celebrated problem in number theory, for a different Zeta Function.
