A Special Fall Family Days LectureThinking Through Williams with Edward Burger

One of the quintessential elements of a Williams College education is that it offers students lessons that can stay with them long after they are unable to reproduce a passing grade on their course final exams. The goal of education is to transform lives--to help individuals learn how to think more imaginatively and wisely today so that they can go off and innovate as well as create artful solutions to important problems tomorrow-- problems that often don't even exist yet. These habits of thought can be applied throughout life and can be taught throughout the curriculum. Come join Professor Burger for a lively and thought-provoking afternoon in which he will not only share these important life-long lessons that arouse effective thinking and creativity but also celebrate all that Williams does to inspire students, parents, and alums to (literally) make up their own minds.

Immediately after the lecture you are invited to meet and informally speak with Professor Burger at a special book signing event for his recently released book, The 5 Elements of Effective Thinking (published by Princeton University Press, co-authored with Michael Starbird).
